COST

Cost

How much does a website cost in South Africa?

Published prices from South African web designers we reviewed in October 2026 range from about R1,200 once-off for basic template sites to between R15,000 and R75,000 or more for agency builds. Elevate costs R2,500, R5,500 or R9,500 to set up, plus R750, R1,500 or R2,500 a month.

How much does a website cost for a plumber or electrician?

Most trades start with Diagnostic (1 page) or Activation (3 pages). With Elevate, the first year costs R11,500 on Diagnostic or R23,500 on Activation, including hosting and monthly updates. A domain and business email are extra.

Why pay monthly instead of once-off?

The monthly fee keeps the site hosted, online and up to date, with up to 30, 60 or 120 minutes of small updates a month depending on the plan. Unused time does not roll over. New pages and redesigns are quoted separately.

Is a domain name included?

No. A .co.za domain is registered separately and usually costs under R200 a year from a registrar. Business email is also separate. Elevate can help connect both.

TIME AND PROCESS

Time and process

How long does it take to build a website?

Elevate plans 2 business days for Diagnostic, 4 for Activation and 7 for Dominance. Timing starts after the 50% deposit and your complete content are received.

What do I need to provide?

Your business details, the services you offer, the areas you cover, photos of your own work, and a logo if you have one. If you do not have everything, Elevate tells you exactly what is missing.

How many changes can I ask for?

Every plan includes one revision round: you review the site and send one clear list of changes.

GOOGLE, MAPS AND AI SEARCH

Google, Maps and AI search

Will my website rank first on Google?

Nobody can honestly guarantee a ranking. A fast, clear site with accurate local details is the foundation; reviews, your Google Business Profile, links from other sites and competition decide the rest.

What is a Google Business Profile and do I need one?

It is the free listing that appears on Google Maps and in local results. Most trades should have one. Elevate's Activation and Dominance plans include setup assistance where the business is eligible.

How do I show up in ChatGPT, Gemini or Google AI answers?

AI assistants recommend businesses whose details are clear and consistent across the web. Allow AI crawlers to read your site, publish plain facts (services, prices, areas, contact details), add structured data, and collect reviews. Elevate sites ship with structured data and an llms.txt summary. No one can guarantee an AI recommendation.

Is WhatsApp better than a contact form?

For many South African customers, yes: they can send their location and photos in one conversation. A click on a WhatsApp link does not mean a message was sent, so test the full route before launch.

OWNERSHIP AND SCOPE

Ownership and scope

Do I own my website?

With Elevate, ownership transfers after the full setup price and any approved extra charges are paid, subject to third-party licences.

Can I cancel the monthly plan?

Yes, the monthly plan can be cancelled. Hosting is part of it, so agree how the site will be moved or closed before cancelling.

Do you build online stores?

Ecommerce is not part of the published plans. It needs a separate scope and quote once the requirements are clear.

Do you guarantee leads or sales?

No. Elevate builds websites that make it easier for customers to understand you and get in touch. It does not guarantee rankings, enquiries or revenue.
