THE DETAILS / TERMS
Clear terms for building and hosting your website.
These terms explain the standard Elevate website service. Updated 6 September 2026.
1. About Elevate
Elevate provides website design, website development, hosting, and limited website maintenance from Polokwane, Limpopo, for businesses across South Africa. Jackie Maake is the founder. Project questions can be sent through WhatsApp at 061 793 3809.
2. Your project agreement
The accepted quote, written scope, and these terms form the working agreement for the project. The quote should identify the selected plan, pages, content requirements, timing, price, and any separately quoted work. If project-specific written terms conflict with this general page, the project-specific terms apply to that project unless applicable law requires otherwise.
3. Website plans
Diagnostic includes one page, Activation includes three pages, and Dominance includes five pages. Each plan includes mobile-first design, a direct WhatsApp contact path, one revision round, hosting, and limited monthly maintenance. Activation and Dominance include Google Business Profile setup assistance where the business is eligible.
Elevate builds websites. Ongoing SEO, paid advertising, social media management, business email, domain fees, ecommerce, and custom web applications are not included unless separately confirmed in writing.
4. Setup payment
A 50% setup deposit is required before work begins. The remaining 50% of the setup price is due before the website is launched. Monthly hosting and maintenance charges begin when the website goes live. Any different arrangement must be recorded in the accepted quote.
If a project is cancelled before completion, Elevate will account for work already completed and any non-recoverable project costs. Any refund or remaining amount will be handled according to the accepted agreement and applicable law.
5. Content supplied by the business
The business supplies accurate written content, service information, contact details, logos, and approved images. The business confirms that it owns this material or has permission to use it. The business remains responsible for factual claims, qualifications, prices, warranties, project descriptions, and other information it asks Elevate to publish.
The delivery period cannot start until Elevate has received the required deposit and complete usable content. Missing information, late responses, or replacement content can move the delivery date.
6. Delivery timing
The planned build period is 2 business days for Diagnostic, 4 business days for Activation, and 7 business days for Dominance. The period starts after the deposit and complete content are received. These periods cover the agreed initial build. Client delays, platform verification, new requirements, or circumstances outside Elevate’s reasonable control may change the completion date.
7. Review and revisions
Every plan includes one revision round. The business should review the website on desktop and mobile and provide one collected list of changes. A revision corrects or refines the agreed website. New pages, new sections, replacement direction, new functionality, and repeated feedback rounds are additional work and require approval of a separate quote.
8. Hosting and domains
Website hosting is included while the monthly plan is active and paid. A domain is not included. The business pays separately for domain registration and renewal. Business email is not included.
Hosting and third-party infrastructure can occasionally experience interruptions. Elevate will take reasonable steps to restore a site issue within its control, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation of external networks, registrars, Google, WhatsApp, Cal.com, or other third-party services.
9. Monthly maintenance
Diagnostic includes up to 30 minutes, Activation up to 60 minutes, and Dominance up to 120 minutes of small content updates per month. This covers reasonable changes to existing text, supplied images, and contact details. Unused time does not roll over.
Maintenance does not include a redesign, new pages, new sections, new functionality, emergency work caused by third parties, or work outside the website. Elevate will explain and quote additional work before starting it.
10. Cancellation
The monthly service can be cancelled at any time by sending Elevate a clear written message. Hosting continues until the end of the paid billing period and then ends. If the account is fully paid, Elevate will provide one standard export of the completed website files so the business can arrange hosting elsewhere. Migration work for another platform or provider may require a separate quote.
Cancellation of the monthly service does not cancel unpaid setup fees or approved additional work. Rights that apply under the Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, or other applicable South African law remain unaffected where those laws apply.
11. Google Business Profile assistance
Activation and Dominance include assistance with setting up or correcting a Google Business Profile. The business must supply accurate information and complete any verification Google requires. Google controls eligibility, verification, suspension, display, and ranking. Elevate does not guarantee approval, a particular search position, enquiries, or revenue.
12. Approval and responsibility
The business reviews the website before launch and confirms that its information is accurate. Elevate will test the agreed pages and contact routes, but the business should also verify phone numbers, WhatsApp destinations, operating areas, prices, and other important details.
13. Intellectual property and website ownership
The business keeps ownership of material it supplied. After the full setup price and any approved additional charges have been paid, the business owns the completed website design and project code created specifically for it. Elevate retains ownership of its pre-existing tools, reusable methods, and general development methods. Open-source software and third-party assets remain subject to their original licences. Elevate will provide a standard website-file export on request when the account is fully paid.
14. Outcomes and liability
A website can improve clarity and make contact easier, but Elevate does not guarantee enquiries, sales, revenue, search placement, or a specific business result. To the extent permitted by applicable law, each party remains responsible for direct loss caused by its own breach, negligence, unlawful conduct, or inaccurate supplied information.
15. Automated website review
The public website review checks a limited set of signals visible on a submitted public page. Its scores and findings are preliminary, may be incomplete, and are not legal, security, accessibility, or ranking certifications. Only submit a website you own or are authorised to review. Elevate does not use this tool to bypass access controls or change the submitted website.
16. Privacy and communication
Website enquiries can use the website brief, WhatsApp, or Cal.com. How information is handled is described in the privacy notice. Project decisions and approvals should be recorded in writing so both parties have a clear record.
17. Changes and questions
Elevate may update these general terms when the service changes. The version accepted for an existing project remains subject to that project’s written agreement. Ask for clarification before paying the deposit if any scope, charge, responsibility, or cancellation term is unclear.
